Meet Kathy Pickett!
My love affair with travel began in 1996 with my very first cruise—an experience that sparked a passion strong enough to shape my career. A chance radio advertisement led me to a position in airline reservations, and five years later, I became a travel advisor. More than 25 years later, I’m continuing that journey with Blue Planet Vacations and Alaska Cruise Guru, helping travelers turn their vacation dreams into unforgettable experiences.
Alaska is one of those destinations that truly captures what I love about travel. From breathtaking glaciers and incredible wildlife to charming port communities and adventures deep into Alaska’s interior, there are so many different ways to experience the Last Frontier. An Alaska cruise is just the beginning. Choosing the right cruise line, itinerary, ship, excursions, and land experiences can transform a great vacation into something extraordinary.
What continues to fuel my enthusiasm for travel is helping clients design adventures that are uniquely their own. No two travelers are exactly alike, and I believe the best vacations begin by listening closely to what matters most to you. My goal is to understand your interests, travel style, and vision, then bring those pieces together into a vacation filled with memorable experiences.
For Alaska travelers, that might mean finding the right itinerary for seeing glaciers and wildlife, choosing excursions that match your interests, adding time in Denali or Alaska’s interior, or bringing multiple generations together for a family cruise. I can help you look beyond simply choosing a ship and create a more complete Alaska experience.
While Alaska and cruising are important areas of my travel expertise, my experience extends around the world. I also plan vacations to Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Europe, Australia and the South Pacific, along with Disney vacations and both independent and guided travel. I especially enjoy helping families travel together and create the kinds of shared experiences they’ll talk about for years.
My travel philosophy is built around a simple belief: travel creates memories, strengthens relationships, and helps us better appreciate the incredible world around us. Some of my favorite moments as a travel advisor come when returning clients share their stories and excitement—and then ask, “Where should we go next?”
Whether you’re dreaming about your first Alaska cruise, returning to explore more of the state, or planning a special vacation with family and friends, I look forward to helping you create an adventure—and memories—that will last a lifetime.
